What is Zuztarretatik Ahora?

It has been a few years since, in 2004, we began to collect the oral heritage in some towns of the Nervión-Ibaizabal Valley. The main objective of this project, promoted by the municipalities of Arakaldo, Arrankudiaga, Arrigorriaga, Basauri, Etxebarri, Galdakao, Orozko and Ugao-Miraballes, is to collect ethnographic and linguistic heritage, classify it, elaborate it and create a didactic-pedagogical material Could be inserted in the school curriculum of children in Early Childhood Education and Primary Education.

Ethnographic heritage (daily life, professions, customs, games, activities and rites related to the seasons of the year …)

Lexical heritage (words, proverbs, sayings …)

Ethnolinguistic Heritage (songs, stories, verses …)

Guarantee the transmission of the ethnolinguistic legacy to the following Generations.

Recover the identity of the Nervión-Ibaizabal region.

Disseminate everything gathered in the project in different formats and supports.

Create useful material in both primary and secondary education with the information collected.

This project involved 77 people whose mother tongue was the local language.

They have been interviewed and recorded (both in audio and video), until they complete about 340 hours of recording.

Year after year, without haste, but without pause

This project, year after year, promoted by the nine municipalities, has continued to bear fruit.

The information collected in the recordings is very wide and varied, and what was published in the aforementioned DVD collects only about 10% of the total information. Information collected from more than 77 informants in the valley and 340 hours of recording.

In this DVD you can consult more than 950 videos distributed thematically in 88 units.

DIDACTIC GUIDE

RECIPIENT CD

The didactic guide is a supplementary material corresponding to the age range 0-6 years specifically intended for both schools and domestic use, since it is aimed at those educators responsible for the transmission of values and social and educational contents.

In the guide itself we find the musical album. It is a CD that includes a selection of popular songs collected in the realized recordings. It is aimed at the smallest ones, being very appropriate to sing them both at school and at home.

SCHOOL DIARY

INTERACTIVE GAME

ZUZTARRETATIK SONG

In September 2012, with the purpose of encouraging new ideas and initiatives, we began publishing the school agenda.

The agenda: in addition to being an Instrument for intercommunication between students, teachers and parents has become an instrument to transmit the ethnolinguistic contents of the Nervión-Ibaizabal region. Course after course, the agenda is completed with different themes, all of them rooted in the culture of the valley.

It is a school agenda of weekly structure and with various functional contents: notes, schedules, calendar, directions … also, you can find parties, appointments, etc. Designated by each of the 9 municipalities.

The Zuztarluze project was born with the objective of approaching and socializing through an interactive game, the ethnographic heritage of the region. The game is accompanied by a competition between school centers of the different towns that make up the region.

His career began in the 2012-2013 school year in Galdakao. The following course was spread by other peoples to this day.

After its first versions the game is developed in the network and, at the moment, in its version 2.0, can be played online: http://zuztarluze.com/olgau/

The project “Zuztarretatik Ahora” needs its playful side. Xabier Zabala has put music to the letter composed by the bertsolari Arkaitz Estiballes. The song reflects what the project wants to be. The emotional conversation between the grandfather and his niece wants us to see the importance of intergenerational transmission. The second part, a joyful romería at home, in the school, in the euskaltegi, in the bar … emphasizes the contexts in which Basque the useful and practical, in a trip from yesterday to today. And, finally, in a rhythm that invites to dance proclaims the importance of living in Euskera shouting “We want to live in Euskera!”. The song has been recorded by people of different ages, children, young, old … of the whole region.

THE LEGACY OF THE REPORTERS: VIDEO PLAYER

The field work that we started together with the Labayru Foundation in 2004 up to the Year 2009 produced the interactive DVD. The more than 340 hours of recording made to the 77 collaborators brings us a new product: the video player.

In this player, the audiovisual material collected is organized in different units. This organization allows us to carry out searches from different parameters: towns, the informant, themes …

Through the search engine itself, we can also search for any term that interests us.

And as a complement to this work, we have the possibility to visualize the transcriptions in three different languages: Euskara, Spanish and English.

WALKING FOR THE ROOTS

YOUTUBE CHANNEL

In the year 2014 we started the production of routes based on the toponymy of the place in the municipalities of Galdakao and Basauri. Tours that highlight the different places, places, buildings, buildings, etc of the villages.

During the following years, in the context of the toponymic disclosure, new routes have been made by the 9 municipalities of the Valley. And, taking advantage of the testimonies gathered for the realization of the videos, also have been published testimonial videos on different topics that delve into the historical theme, customs, etc. Of the same peoples.

The tours are available in three different formats: video, GPS coordinates in wikilocs and Google maps…

In 2014 saw our channel on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/zuztarretatikahora

ZUZTARLUZE.COM

In 2015 the Zuztarluze project took a new step. In this case jump, we would say. Jump to the cloud. We launched the web zuztarluze.com

The purpose of the web is multiple. On the one hand, inform the project, who are its drivers, their collaborators, etc. And, on the other, give the option to consult the contents that make up the core of the game to interactive through PDF-s.

From the page we also have direct access to the interactive game. It is a faithful photograph of what the project is.

GAMES

ZUZTARLUZE 2.0

In the recordings made to the Informants, many and varied games were collected. Of all of them, we have chosen these: iturriak, kumak egiten, soka saltoan, trukeme astea, txorro morro, atxea motxea  and  kantoi kantoika.

With these 7 videos have been made illustrative where they have participated children and adults of different municipalities of the valley, as well as monitors of toy libraries. The videos include the structure and operation of the Games.

These games, even being games that have been played throughout Life, to this day, have much use.

In the year 2016, we developed the Internet version of the interactive game zuztarluze, in version 2.0. Until then, the game was developed locally, in each of the centers participating in the contest.

The game opens to the world through the network. Anyone can learn the contents of popular wisdom in an enjoyable way.

The interactive game has two possibilities: play and / or practice. It is practiced again and again without the conditioning of time (clock) and points. Or you play with the punctuation and time variables.

We can play at individual level as in pairs, 4 being the maximum number of simultaneous participants.
